KIDS
The Children’s Room offers daily activities, weekly storytimes, monthly programs, literacy initiatives, and a variety of materials for ages 0-12.
Reading to your child helps them build speech, literacy, social-emotional, and conflict resolution skills. Build a reading habit together with our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge!
Log your reading on Beanstack at your own pace. Earn prizes as you go.
100 Books: small prize (stickers, tattoos, etc)
500 Books: a free book
1000 Books: completion certificate, tote bag, gift card to a local business
Did your newborn get a Baby Bag?
Thanks to the Friends of the Ayer Library, every new baby born in Ayer receives a tote bag with free board books carefully selected by our Children’s Room staff, information about Library supports, and a list of community resources for your family. The Ayer Town Clerk provides these bags to families picking up their birth certificates. But if you didn’t get yours or recently moved to the area, let a staff member know!
